How to make the perfect cup of dairy-free milky tea

Milky breakfast tea – minus the milk.

Adding plant based milk to hot water or vice versa can be tricky to get right. The milk solids start to disassociate and get bitty if the temperature gets too hot!

I’ve also noticed that adding boiling water to tea (and coffee) is too harsh and just destroys the flavour compounds.

Instead, try steeping your tea in steamed milk first (preferably in the steamer or saucepan), and then carefully add in the hot water. You’ll notice the mixture blends cohesively and the flavours are 👌🏼

You can do this with any kind of tea which goes well with milk like oolong and rooibos (delicious and both packed with antioxidants).
